Is this my imagination? Scenario: various "requery" downloads still active, two or three static IP hosts out there who have *everything* I want (does a seven-year run popular science fiction TV show tell you what that is??), I do a repeat search, Limewire starts to cook, I see connections being made to the "heavenly" hosts, and violà, a connection is made for a brand new, never before downloaded file rather than one of the incomplete downloads. Since this has happened five times in a row, I have to assume that the split second difference between Limewire checking a 90% file and one that is not even in the list is what is causing this file to connect rather than the two or three incomplete downloads still on "requery". I can think of no remedy other than so severely limiting active downloads that there is no choice but to connect for one of the incompletes. But some of those files I started downloading from another host, with grouping off and under different names, and it seems to me that if Limewire has a choice, it invariably goes for a file I don't have, rather than the incomplete one. |
