The LimeWire installer doesn't delete them. They should still be somewhere on your harddrive (usually c:\program files\limewire\shared). You could simply search for all mp3 files on your harddive. |

Click on Start and then move to Search and select For Files or Folders... In the upper 'box', simply type .mp3 and hit <Enter> This will show you every .mp3 file you have on your HDD and tell you the folder location. Also, make sure that you have not somehow designated folders to be 'hidden'.... In Windows Explorer, go to Tools > next Folder Options and then View In the View set-ups, right up near the top, be sure that you have clicked the 'radio-button' that says, "Show hidden files and folders."

well fook. If i had a windows pc i might. But i dont, i have an Imac. and i know they are not their...so ya...i just wanna know why they arent. This is the first that you have indicated the type of machine and OS you are using. Try to always give the basic info about your system when you post, OK? I also run an iMac. You don't say what OS you are using. If you are using OS X, then go to Home>>Applications>>Limewire>>Shared and you should find your files. If you are running OS 9.x, then click your hard drive icon, go to Applications>>Limewire>>Shared. You should find everything there, unless you specified another folder when you initially set up Limewire. Try using Sherlock and do a generic search for all your .mp3 files--it will give you a file tree that will show you where they are all stored. I've upgraded every time Limewire puts out an update, and I've never lost a file. So I am convinced they are on your hard drive somewhere. |

Re: this is bull This also happened to me once, when I ran the LW uninstall routine prior to installing a new version. For me, it was the uninstall, not the install. I had a recent backup of the lost/deleted SHARED files folders. Quote:
