How do you transfer downloaded files into your library?

With the program, there is no shared file to move music to player to be transfered to mp3 player. Where do I go to get the files?

Maybe sticking this will help...

it's a different problem...

i have a completely different problem though because i can't listen to any of the music i download in limewire.. i have to open other programs to hear the music. and same goes with viewing videos that i download.. i would have to open so many other programs that it'll make my computer slower and sometimes freeze..

i just want my "shared" folder IN library IN limewire. and i can't get it there=/

LimeWire's integrated mp3 player is a piece of junk anyway. You'll have fewer distortions and blips and crap when you use native player software (winamp, xmms, itunes, whatever).

LimeWire can't play videos anyway. To add your shared folder to your library read the posts above.

Kreiger88, thanks for your help with blocking unwanted leech vendors.

However, with your download

I now no longer have all the search options, e.g. album, genre, etc., only 'filename'.

Does this matter or are these multi-search options just put in one search string anyway?

btw, what exactly does your tag mean?

plz if ur not sure of something dont say it.....krieger!!

tiff, u either have to upgrade to 2.2 which is free or u have go delete 2.2 and reinstall it...correctly.

Unregistered August 13th, 2002 10:18 PM

limewire will play anything, u just have to download a couple of codecs from 3ivx.com, there u can read all about how divx doctor will help u play any movie files u want. u'll have to convert them after download though, which is what divx doctor does.

WMP9 busts share/save settting

Sorry for cross-post, but I think some of the seeming illiterates may be runnning into a real problem that I've been having since downloading windows media player 9. Suddenly, all sub-folders of Program Files (thus the default shared/library directory) are set to read-only, so LimeWire won't let you save files to the default shared directory. I didn't touch limewire, and suddenly it's saving to user-specific "my files" directories, but still sharing from the now read-only shared dir.

Worse, the read-only permission setting can't seem to be unset (I try, and it just reverts to read-only). I could set LimeWire to use a desktop folder for sharing/saving, but that seems like a hack (and I don't really want to move gigs of files either... fragmentation much?).

Long story short, it's a very real possibility that people are simply unable to set their save and shared directories to be the same location due to a windows media player-caused permissions problem (I should say "apparently WMP9-caused," but I've read enough posts about it here and elsewhere that I'm pretty sure this is not a coincidence).

I'm terrified of uninstalling WMP9, since last time I uninstalled such an embedded MS product, I got the blue screen of death.

HELP!!!

Ned Flanders April 21st, 2003 05:18 AM

"The default for Saving & Sharing your files is C:\Program Files\Limewire\Shared" said Kath.

Just a FYI, I downloaded 2.9.8. PRO, after removing 2.8.6, and without changing a setting, the Shared was missing, I would download songs and they would disappear. In the LimeWire Tools, Options, it showed Saving as C:\Document and Settings\defalt\Shared and in the Sharing window, it was blank--nothing in the box. I added that location, and now it does work.

Cheers,

Ned

PS Is it true that LimeWire has hired Baghdad Bob as their spokesperson? "All of LimeWire is working, there are no problems here, in fact I am currently downloading seven thousand songs, at twenty-four hundred Kb/s. The record companies are hysterical, they are lost in the board rooms, and we are causing their stomach ulcers to roast...."

I am having a problem with some music downloads. Some of them are mp3 files and others look like a sheet of paper and won't play. Love limewire regardless.

downloaded files cannot be opened

I am running limewire on an imac using os9, and recently had to reinstall limewire. Anyway, I'm having problems downloading as of late. After I have already downloaded the files, when I try to open them like 8 out of 10 of them cannot be opened, and I am stumped b/c they are just mp3 files??
I use quicktime usually to open them and then transfer them to itunes, but qt has not been able to open many of them lately and it is very frustrating.

Suura November 29th, 2004 08:48 PM

I'm sort of having the same/ a similar problem........

My family is having slight diffuculty with the LimeWire program that we
downloaded from your site.

We are able to download the music, but because the computer we have in
our
home is a newer Imac... the files are downloaded to quicktime player. A
while back, they were somehow able to be downloaded onto cds that you
could
burn and listen to, but that's been a problem to us now for the past few

months. We have all this downloaded music and a cd burner, but there is
no
way for us to put the songs on a cd.

Anyone that can respond to this, it would be greatly appreciated. :)

Lord of the Rings November 30th, 2004 12:51 AM

Suura: You're using OS 8 or 9 aren't you. This issue has been discussed on this forum before. And by the way, if you wish to burn CD's then get iTunes. It will solve a lot of your playback issues & will also enable you to be able to burn audio cd's. Even better for burning is Roxio's Toast version 5 for OS 9.

Search on the forum for the word 'BLANK' or go to either the general mac or installation mac sections & you'll find threads that discuss your blank icon document issue & suggest solutions to it.

Hey guys, I have a problem , perhaps someone can help me out, if possible explain it in english as my knowledge of computers isnt so great.

Anyways, I downloaded Limewire yesterday. Previously ive been using Winmx. With that the files can be transmitted to Winamp where i play all my songs.

Now that i am trying out Limewire though i cant seem to transfer the files to Winamp. I've tried the suggestion in the below post :

I'm not familiar with winamp so I don't know if it imports songs by default. But you'll need to disable LW's media player. Go to Tools>Options>Player & untick option to use LW's media player & press the Apply button. Then your default mp3 player (probably winamp) will open everytime you launch an mp3.

Thanx mate! its all good now.

Dowloading to SD card

Help me - I bought this service - thinking I could download to my SD card to play in my portable MP3 player.

Please help me!!

Lord of the Rings April 7th, 2006 08:18 AM

For fast & easy access, go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & the folder will open up for you.

To learn how to add the files to your portable player, read the manual. There's often a media manager to help which may allow you to drag & drop files from desktop to mp3 player icon.

What do you mean by SD card? I'd be careful of trying to downld directly to external devices.

can't find my downloads to transfer to mp3 player

I have downloaded songs with Limewire to my computer but when I go to trf them to my new mp3 player ( zen 60mp3 player ). I had an earlier zen and was able to do this all of the time through a drag and drop between the two windows (one for computer and one for player). Now I can't find any of my files thorugh the explore function. Under Limewire I have two folders one says incomplete and the other says purchase downloads. How do I find these songs I have downloaded. I have a dell computer with windows xp operating system. This problem is similar to these old posts, but I can't find any answers.
