mp3 icons as blank sheets

hey all,

i just downloaded 2.4.4 for the macintosh and when i try downloading any mp3, it goes into the correct folder, but as a blank sheet icon. so when i double click it, i am asked which progam i want to use to run it.

i had a n earlier version before, and it didn't do this. when the Mp3 was downloaded, it had an iTunes icon. Why am I getting a sheet now?

And before, when it was an iTunes icon, even befor eit was completely downloaded, I could listen to waht was there so far. Now, with the blank sheet icon, i CAN'T do that.

Any help?
