download Problems I posted a thread about my problem to download files before. I think I solved it partially. I had only a few files in my sharing folder. After I increased the amount of shared files downloading started to work ( I suppose therefore I was considered as freeloader by most hosts ). Lime Wire doesn't tell me now that I am downloading at a speed of 0 KB/s but it is still very slow. The maximum download speed I've reached is only 1 KB/s. Most of the time it's only at about 0.3KB/s and it often goes back to 0 KB/s. Are this typical download speeds? |

Same problem-SLOW DOWNLOAD I'm having the same problem but I have over 50 mp3's I'm sharing, what's the deal?? I've only once gotten a fast speed about 10kb/s. Most of the time it goes back and forth from .0whatever to 1.0 to max of 2.0. I have a fast DSL connection? Could leaf nodes be the problem. I get fast download speeds everywhere else in the world. One thing I was thinking is, are alot of people saying they have T1 and T3 connections and be lying, hummm??? |

Oh yeah one more thing, as in MaximumPC {for those who read it and found out about LimeWire as I did} they were right Force Resume button does nothing for me, has it ever worked for anyone reading this??? I had the older version they included on the disk and I now have the latest version, and still nothing? |

download problems To answer the "Force Resume" button problem; I am using LimeWire Pro 2.2.4 on WindowsME OS. I have cable modem connection, ( althought it doesn't act like it = very slow! ) This is the behavior I have found with the "Force Resume" button: When you select a file for download and the status returns something to the affect as, Waiting Busy 59s blah blah .. and you press the "force Resume" button, it will work. However, if you press the "Force Resume" button when the download status indicates "Requery Sent, Waiting ###s for Results", the Force Resume button DOES NOT WORK! So the Force Resume button only seems to work if the file you want to download is busy. So I would like to ask the LimeWire developers, is the Force Resume Button suppose to work in this manner or is it broken? I would preferr the "Force Resume" button to work in both instances (Busy and Requery ..). To Address the Slower then SH*T downloads ... As I stated above, I have Cable Modem and most of the time I have very slow downloads. I usually get 0.8Kps to 3Kps download speed. I share over 500 files with the Gnutella network and I have set the Upload Bandwidth up to 20KB/s ( it is usually 10KB/s) and I set my maximum Upload Slots to 10. So this should leave me plenty of band- width left to have a fast download. BTW: I have tested my transfer rate from internet test sites and I usually get 300-500KB/s speed for download and uploads. I have also disabled Ultrapeer Capabilities, and still I get very slow downloads ( that's WHEN I get a download to work). I also only allow the limewire and gnutellanet.com connections which should help the speed, but it doesn't. So what to do? BTW: I also used Audiogalaxy as my primary music download app. I was very spoiled. And I miss Audiogalaxy A LOT! Last edited by derrisener; July 11th, 2002 at 06:14 PM. |
