Songs query for hours and hours

I'm having a lot of trouble downloading. Almost every song I'm trying to download is sent to requery for hours and hours. These songs never download. What's the problem?

Thanks for your response...I don't have a firewall and I'm not aware of how to tell if other's have one. Also, you explained that if a sharer has logged off that I'm not able to download. So, the sharer has to be on-line in order for me to extract the information?
