I have an incomplete file. When I returned the next night to finish it off, it did initiate the download continuation but guess what?, it started from skratch. I gave up on LimeWire after that. It should have continued from where it left off.

It would have had you found a file with the same hash. LimeWire will not resume a download from a file that is not identical because it will produce poor quality files.

LimeWire as it is now doesn't rely on hashes to be the same yet. It's still using file names and file sizes to compare files.

True at the moment. But in this case it amounts to the same thing.
