Cool

Hello!

Instead of just flaming out please give us some details on what your problems with it have been and we might be able to help you so that your experience with LimeWire becomes a good one.Personally I have used it since the beginning and in the beginning it sure was buggy but know I think it is the best client out there and it works very well for me.Almost never crashes!.

Default rubbish

I haven't used many file sharing programs, my roomate recommended limewire, and I have to say, that after a couple of days of using it, I'm pretty frustrated myself. I can't speak for the previous poster, but my problems have to do with the 1) "can't move to library" message, as well as 2) the inane slowness of the downloads. I am on an iBook/osX with a cable connection and I'm having download speeds of as low as .8k/s and I think the fastest I've seen is around 3-5k/s. I'm sorry, but that sucks and makes me feel like I'm back in the eighties waiting for a web page to load.
Other problems/complaints include: the overall slowness of Limewire, meaning even operations that have nothing to do with downloading take a lot longer to execute than anything else in any other program I use, and 2) I have only been able to get a connection and download only a fraction of the songs I try. So out of 20 songs I try to get, I only get about 4-5 of those songs (If I'm lucky).

As a new user, I'm not impressed. I've been reading many of the help threads, and so far, have not received any useful information on how to solve my problems. Any suggestions?

Gabe

The download speed issue has nothing to do with Limewire. You can try any Gnutella client and achieve essentially the same results. There are a lot users who apparently share files across a slow connection. I have tried 5 different gnutella clients and find Limewire no better/worse than the others with regard to success rate in downloads or speed. Your 4-5 out of twenty is typical of my own experience. The nature of the beast - I occasionally get downloads at incredible speed 100-120 KBs but these are the exceptions.
