Tony: If you have lost the download.dat file from the incomplete folder then there is not much you can do. This file contains the information on which parts of which files have been downloaded. The latest version of LimeWire (2.6.3) is quite good at not losing the download.dat file even during a crash - but it happens from time to time. I suggest you delete the contents of the incomplete folder and start again. Mark |

I downloaded version 2.6.3 and I'm having the same problem. I am one of the idiots that registered the software so I have the pro version. What's going on? I have a file like 96% completed, and when I restart the LimeWire, I start all over at zero percent. Come on. I use a cable modem, I can just imagine how the 56K and less users feel. |

I am also having this problem in 2.6.3 pro. Downloaded a 700 MB to 98% and then the lovely "Requery" messages appeared. Tried resuming later on and it had gone back to 0% ... It's very irritating ... particularly in combination with large file downloads and an ISP that restricts downloads to 3 GB's per month!! |

Alternatives I was a Gnucleus user previously. Got sick and tired of its constant crashes. I used to use Limewire occasionally, if I wanted to leave it running overnight or something, because it didn't crash as often as Gnucleus. Eventually registered for Limewire Pro, and lo'n'behold just as I do that Gnucleus 1.8.4 comes out and it's got to be the most stable release of Gnucleus I have ever experienced. I can keep it running for days on end, the only reason to stop it is when I have to reboot my machine for some reason. It's as stable as Limewire is. Plus it doesn't use as much CPU power as Limewire does, so it scales better. It doesn't suffer from the resume downloads from zero bug of Limewire. And best of all, it's free, GNU source-code software. |

lost huge file when lime crashed I have had the same problem. Limewire crashed, and when I restarted the computer, a huge file I had downloaded 60% of just disappeared from the downloads list. The file is still sitting in my incompletes folder, and I tried redownloading the same file, with no success. I am back to 0%. I wish Limewire developers would address huge bugs like this, or at least offer a good workaround, before focusing on adding new things to the program. An answer from a developer on this issue would be nice! By the way, I am a PRO user as well, so I am paying for these bugs! |

Solution to resumen "half-downloaded files" Hi everybody, Most of you have the same problem that I had before. Now I've found the solution, for I'm using LimeWire daily since 2 years ago, so I've learnt some things. Now I have LimeWire 2.6.3, and sometimes it crashes too, but if you make a copy of the "downloads.dat" file from time to time (I mean, every 5 or 10 minutes) and you places it in another folder of your pc, though LimeWire crashes, you'll be able to substitute the "downloads.dat" folder, and then it will start to be downloaded the same files that you were before (downloads.dat contains the downloading list of files). In relation to the "same point of the downloading file", it doesn't depend on Limewire, but on the same ip which keeps the same file. Try to look for it. Thus I've finish every download. It works! Good luck everybody! |
