Corrupt file message I have also been getting the corrupt file message. But I have found that if I click yes to the "do you want to continue the download" message, the file goes into the library. But if I click No, the file gets the word CORRUPT added to it and it stays in the incomplete folder. I am able to rename the file and then move it into the library the same way you rename other files, with a very slow double click. Then I move the files using Windows Explorer. Some of these files may have a little chirp but have been for the most part ok at least to my ears. thanks for the great work! |

Corrupt same problem with corrupted files... and it only started happening when I upgraded limewire from 2.4.4 to the current 2.5.x version. I download MP3 files, primarily, and almost every file is coming back with a Corrupt status. I am a paying customer of LimeWire, this is definitely a bug... do not blow it off and give reasons for it as I NEVER had this problem with the prior version. I am sure most of us just ignore it and work around the issue, but it is an inconvenience to those trashing files that they spent time downloading when there really isn't a problem. |

I don't believe it is a bug. You wouldn't have had this problem with prior versions - because the corruption detection is a relatively new addition. Corruption in MP3 files can usually be ignored - it very often isn't noticeable. This is why you are given the option to ignore the warning. Corruption in executable or compressed files tends to be serious. Mark |

corrupted and unable to play files Whenever I download and it says corrupted, I say yes continue to download. Then I attempt to open the file but its either a Limewire document or a real player document and the real media player can't open it for some reason. I have a Mac. v. 9.0 and this corruption has only happened after I downloaded the new version 2.5. So my main problem is I'm unable to open my mp3s. I also have another quirk with this new version. Isn't their supposed to be a mp3 player on the Limewire application? It isn't on my new version. Any help would be greatly apperciated! Thanks. |

deleting corrupt files Have you tried deleting from Explorer? Do you have multiple media players that save song lists? I had a similar problem with both Music Match Jukebox and Windows Media Player, I've found that if I don't save the song lists in the library, I don't get that message. This glitch will also keep you from renaming files that have either the wrong title or the wrong artist, which you can't do if the file is "in use" by another program whether that program is open or not. Or it could be something else entirely. |
