Default getting files to play in Itunes after downloading

I recently upgraded to Limewire 2.5 for Mac OS 9. Everything appears to work fine, except after I download the file and double-clik on it to launch it, as I would in the original version of Limewire, nothing happens. It used to automatically transfer the file to iTunes as well as my hard drive/shared folder. I tried all the advice that is already posted, but I get the same results - nothing. Can anyone tell me exactly how I can get the files playing in iTunes after they have been downloaded? -Thanx

1. Download itunes Associator

2. Drag mp3s over the itunes associator icon

3. Open itunes

4. Drag the converted mp3s into the itunes window.

If the file is a valid mp3, this technique will work every time.

Generally, I prefer to drag and drop , than to double click - that way I know that the file is going exactly where I want it to go.

i just worked out how to do this.... hope you get this.

go to itunes then to file menu and select "add to library" then find the file or files (depending on where you put the mp3) and then press choose. that's all there is to it.

Red face

I kind of have similar problem. But I can't manage to drag the mp3 from
Limewire into the associator. And even when I go to the Itunes and try to
add it in the library the option of Limewire doesn't show any songs, only
lib and uninstaller data.
I don't know any longer what to do. I'm desperate for help

Here's how I organise my mp3s. Firstly, I don't bother trying to do anything with them in Limewire (other than download them, of course):

I have my Limewire shared folder in Favourites in the Apple menu. To do this, find your Limewire shared folder (command F in the finder and type 'shared'), control click on it and select Add to Favourites. It's now accesible by going to the Apple menu>Favourites.

To move my downloaded mp3s to itunes, I open itunes, make the window smaller, open the shared folder next to it and drag mp3s from the shared folder directly into itunes.

If itunes doesn't accept the file, I drag it over itunes associator (on the desktop) and drag it into itunes again.

To burn an audio CD, I drag mp3s directly from itunes to Toast (Apple's CD Burn software doesn't work on my external SCSI recorder). You should be able to drag mp3s from itunes onto the desktop, into a folder or into another compatible application (such as Quicktime Player).

If you're downloading a lot of mp3s, it's worthwhile moving them to your itunes music library and classifying in folders by artist, album and genre rather than leaving then in the Limewire save/shared folder where they'll be mixed with other text files, software or videos that you've downloaded. You can then add your mp3 folder to be shared by Limewire in Tools>Options>Sharing>Add.

Unhappy

I previously have been able to download songs and just launch them straight from Limewire into itunes by just double clicking on it in Limwire after it finished downloading. It worked just fine. But now for some reason all my files are being downloaded as Quicktime files so when I launch it from Limewire it opens Quicktime and plays it instead of puting in itunes. Help!
