Default Downloads not what they used to be

You said it already,
maybe this problem is temporary due the time you are connected.
sometimes you connect to the wrong ultrapeers or hosts and so just get bad or no results on your queries.

Angry

Yeah I noticed same thing.
I was using Morpheus before and switched to Limewire to see if it had same problem.
It does.
My best guess is it has something to do with the use of these UltraPeers.
Both Morpheus and Limewire appear to enforce a relatively low number of UltraPeer connections. The only way to try to get better search results/ connections is to manually remove (drop) one of the UltraPeers and hope you get a 'better' Ultrapeer.

Pain in the butt!

Morpheus is written in C++, Limewire in Java. Maybe the hardcoded limit can be changed in the source code and re-executed. (Morpheus would require a compiler, Limewire just the runtime to do this)

Anyone think of another possible solution?

Default too manny ultrapeers!

Perhaps in the next update, Limewire's default (when first installed) should be set to not act as an ultrapeer. I think there's probably too many users out there with relatively slow connections that never even look at their preference settings! Additionally, the ultrapeer setting could be disabled if people say their connection speed at anything slower than T1.
