Default Completed Upload Changes to 0 KB/s

After leaving LimeWire running for an extended period of time, I will have a screen full of "uploading" files showing an upload speed of 0 KB/s. Today, I verified that many files that appear be uploading normally change their status to this shortly after completion. I assume that they are actually taking up upload slots, so I would like to stop this from happening. Perusing all the available options didn't lead me anywhere, so any suggestions?

This problem is stronly related to bandwidth limiting - Tools|Options|Uploads|Basic...

If you set the slider to 100% this will solve most of the problem.

There is an upcoming fix in a future version of LimeWire.

Notwithstanding the previous answer, how long do the completed ones remain for you? The same thing happens to me, but it's just a temporary thing before it switches to "Complete" - I figure it's just some housekeeping on LimeWires part.

Treatid, Thanks for the quick reply. I already had my bandwidth pegged out at 100%, so I guess I'll have to wait for the upcoming code mod.

tross04401, Once a completed upload changes to "Uploading 0 KB/s", it seems to be a pretty much permanent situation until I kill it. When I'm downloading, I've noticed what you're talking about. But like you, I assumed it was just doing a little housekeeping and they do quickly turn to "Complete", so no harm there.

<nod> That's interesting, every upload has always gone to complete for me, and I'm not using 100%. The only time it stays at 0KB/s is on "Transfer Interrupted" - and even then it doesn't tie up any upload slots. Wonder why it should behave differently (I'm using 2.5.5 Pro on Linux).

I have this problem too. Slider already set to 100% and auto clear checked.
This is on iMac DV running Mac OS 9.2.2.

After about 8 hours all uploading stops because all my slots are full of these "phantom uploads". After killing them, normal uploading starts again after a couple minutes.

This is a problem only when I leave my Mac running unattended for a long time.

Default DAFULK...

Interesting - Yes that's the problem, but I was fairly sure it was associated with bandwidth limiting. If not, the upcoming fix may not help (As I understand it - a problem was found in a piece of code that is only called when bandwidth limiting is enabled).

FWIW - I'm on W2K here.

Question re: setting the upload slider to 100%

If I set it to 100% (or unlimited), does that hinder my download speeds? I sure don't want to slow them anymore than they are.

I currently have my uploads set to around 50% (25 kb/s). What I didn't realize was that it was shared between all uploads. Or, at least, it seems to be.

I am on a Cable modem and my downloads run on average at about 10 kb/s. Very few will run over that. And even more rare are the ones over 100 kb/s.

So, back to the original point: What effect does my upload speed setting have on my download speed?

Thanks!

Well, that's one difference with my setup, I don't have it automatically clear completed uploads.

Maybe this only occurs under Mac OS? When I have the 0 KB/s problem, it's under OS-X on my iBook. On my PC running Linux, I haven't noticed this happening, but I tend to be online less with my PC and I'm running an older version of LimeWire there, so it's not an iron clad comparison.
