Well, that's one difference with my setup, I don't have it automatically clear completed uploads.
Maybe there's a problem with the autoclear feature. Clicking on "Clear Inactive" does nothing.

Julie Z: Setting your upload speed to 100% /can/ impact your download speed. If your upload bandwidth is fully used then ACKnowledgement packets may have to wait before they can be sent - this may appear to the other end as if you cannot send the data as fast as it is currently sending and therefore slow down.

Since my upload queue is always full, I find that unlimited upload bandwidth can chop my download bandwidth by 10-15KB/s.

By limiting bandwidth so that I have a spare 1KB/s or thereabouts upload bandwidth - I get full download bandwidth and very nearly full upload bandwidth (except when the uploads die off to 0KB/s).

You can also limit your upload bandwidth (sort of) by reducing the number of upload slots.

Given your apparent bandwidth (100+KB/s) I think that your main limits are the speed of the other end.

scterrell: I'm on a PC (W2K) - so it probably isn't an operating system issue.

There's two different 0kb/s upload problems.

The more serious one (which does stop other people from uploading) can be fixed by moving the slider to 100%.

The other minor one is just a problem with certain uploads that aren't tagged as finished, so the GUI doesn't mark them as finished. But, they are merely visual nuisances and don't stop others from uploading.

Upgrading to the 2.6 beta should fix both problems.

Default Unfair Speed Difference!

It sounds like I'm having the same problem that lots of others are having, except for one thing: mine is not a GUI problem - it says that I am downloading the files at 0kb/s, and it never changes to complete (sounds like other people's programs are still downloading, just not showing the process). It usually starts downloading (pretty slowly, considering my ethernet connection), and then switches to O kb/sec after a few seconds.

At the same time, I can see other people uploading files from me at anywhere from 25 to 100 kb/sec.

I'm getting tired of sharing and not receiving!! I just upgraded to 2.5 (free, not pro), hoping it would solve the problem, but nope.

I'm running on Mac OS9.2 (upgrading to OSx soon, don't know if that will help or hinder), limewire2.5.

Any help you can give me to better my download speed (other people seem to be uploading from me with no problem), and to fix this automatic 0 kb/sec thing would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
Sarah

I've upgraded to 2.6.3 Pro & haven't seen any more of this problem since.
Thanks guys.
