Requery means 'to search again' - If LimeWire cannot find an available upload slot (so that you can download) on a client, it will look for other clients. In effect, the message means that no serving clients are available. The only way to fix this is to persaude everyone who downloads to also make files available for upload. At the moment, many (most?) people do not share files so the demand on files that are shared is very high.

The 5 minute countdown on requeries is spurious - people complained when it accurately reflected the time between LimeWire's automatic searches. In order to reduce network overhead/traffic - LimeWire only does an automatic re-search every 45 minutes (for all files, not each file).

If you perform a manual search for the file, LimeWire will include any new clients with the file in the list for that file - which will re-start the download if the new client has free upload slots.

I'm having the same problem, i can't download anything. Any time i try it just does the requiry thing. What you're telling us is that this is because people aren't sharing? It's not a problem with the way the program/my coputer is behaving?

Yes - the problem is that there aren't enough people sharing. No, you're computer is working fine.

Some files are more available than others. Try looking for different types or genres of file. I understand that things with britney spears in the title are pretty easy to get hold of.

In general, small files are shared for longer and so are easier to get hold of.

At the moment the gnutella network is particularly bad. Hopefully things will improve as Morpheus settles down.

Education institutions restricting and closing down access to P2P networks has not helped (they provided lots of big pipe connections).

There are things in development which should improve things in the long term. But for the moment, you have to work harder than usual to get downloads.
