On Sharing Given the amount of negativity towards download/upload problems listed in this forum, you'd think LimeWire would pack up shop and go home.
Fortunately, I've never had such problems to the extent that I would pull my hair out and, hopefully, I'm not being filtered out as a leach (I share approx. 500+ music files and about 300 OTR files).
The only filters I enable is that my search results only display 3 star quality or better and that those I'm sharing with have decent speeds (broadband, cable, etc).
There's a thought - a 56k user downloading a 10meg file. What do you think most sharers would say about that? I don't leave my Mac on and connected 24/7, so to me that would pose a problem.
I do find the Inquiry Sent, waiting 269 seconds (whatever) a bit ridiculous and find that this result is generally the kiss of death (at least for me) and, as such, I usually move on to my next search. Or . . . I will retry the same search again . . . as 'what was not there 10 seconds ago, may be there now.'
In its defence, I'm pretty sure LimeWire's not the biggest file sharing program out there and, while it claims to be cross-platform, I would think the majority of users are Mac owners (why would PC owners bother when they've got the mighty Morpheus and Kazaa to browse through?). I could be wrong on that point though.
