downloaded files read as Limewire Documents

I have downloaded several files which have the attachment.sit but display Limewire document in their "type" listing. I should say I am running Mac 0S9. Clicking on the file opens limewire and does nothing else.
Anyone got any ideas of solutions.

Drag the .sit files to the icon of StuffIt Expander to open them.
