![]() On previous versions of LimeWire I had no problems with resuming files, but now with ver. 2.6.5 even with an identical T-number & file name, Limewire will not resume the downloading after I have killed the download, whether it be 1min or 1day. Can someone pls help to explain why & how to troubleshoot this problem? Many thanks! |

a) If the download suddenly stops AND the content is still available you will be able to simply click resume and you can pick up the file transfer were you left off. b) If you started to download a file and it is in your incompleted downloads folder AND you find the Identical file (Size, Name, etc) and you select download it will download the remaining portions of the files. So if you've download 22MB of 44MB file in a previous session and you seach and find the file again in a new session limewire will download the remaining 22MB only. c) If you have your options set to automatically shutdown limewire (this would abuptly kill any downloads) The next time you start limewire AND if the content is still available it will automatically resume the downloads. You will notice the out of the three options you have for resuming a download only 1 requires that you actually click the resume button. Now if you wish to test the last two options do the following: 1. Connect to Gnutella 2. Do a search for CBT or Understanding (The search should return a lot of results.) Only download from **** stars. 3. Make a note of the file size download 25% of the file and kill the download. 4. From your search results list select the same file that you started to download and click download again. You should note that the download will start at 25%. (works good!) Second Test: 1. Verify that your shutdown options are set to shutdown immediately (you can change this back after you have finished your testing.) 2. Select Several Items (3 or 4) **** from the CBT - Results and click download. Let the transfers start and then Shutdown limewire. 3. Open Limewire and check your downloads under the search tab The downloads should be active. This test would verify that the features work correctly and your problems are associated with the content you are trying to download being (offline) or someone is killing your connections to the resources, the machines are busy servicing other requests.
