Problems with shared folders I've been using Phex on my Solaris box for quite a while now, but I've been having so many problems that I've quit using it. I'm running Solaris 8 and JRE1.4 on Sparc hardware. When I tell LimeWire where the shared directory is, it won't recurse the directory or even show me the 3 files that are in that specific directory. When I eliminate the file extention filters, it will then recurse the subdirectories under /home/????/shared/ but it still won't list any of the files, and it still says that I'm not sharing any files, even though they are in there! I downloaded a file today, and LimeWire downloaded it and placed it in the shared directory and now the Library page says that it's not there, even though it is physically there. I've tried running LimeWire in the past (about 9 months ago), and this was the reason I originally switched to Phex, but back then it wouldn't find the .iso images in the directory, even if they were expicitly listed on the filter line, but would still pick up .mp3's. It seems the problem has gotten much worse. Any ideas? Dick R. |
