How Can I get My LimeWire To Go Faster ive been usin limewire for a lond time and it goes really slow..it goes like most of the time 0 kb/s but when its fast for like 2 seconds its 2 kb/s..and ive got isdn..is there anyway i can get it to go faster..like anysettings..im usin a nortan personal firewall and the windows one should i turn one of them off..it takes like all day to download one song..how fast should it go..will someone plz help |

Conduct a speed test You should read back through the thread a few pages and use the link I suggested to another user to perform a speed test. You can also use the search function on the forum to find an answer to your question as this issue has been discussed more times than I care to recall.

i did the test.. i took the speed test and it says:59kps download speed and 59 kps upload speed..and its still goin 0kps and i did what u said to change ur settings like the filtering and crap and it didnt work what else can i do to get the 59kps out of my limewire..i was lookin some where else and it told me to do somthin for my firewall like name a port called gnutella and it told the port number on limewire.com and it didnt do anything ive been downloadin 2 songs for 2 days now and ones 83% and the other is 93%..o and i have limewire pro and it doest go ne faster even though it says turbo chearged..i just wanna get it goin 59..someone plz help |

Perhaps the problem is at the other end First of all, thanks for following up on the suggestions. Second -- Perhaps the problem is on the other end (the sources or source you are downloading from.) Third, your provider could be rate limiting p2p traffic. Have you tried to download "other stuff from P2P" and do you experience the same results?

ya i download songs and software and crap all the time.. I download songs all the time ive got 2316 songs on my computer..and they all take all day or somtimes 3..i usally put up with it but im gettin sick of watin forever for a good song to download..my friend has 48k dial up and it downloads a song in 20 mins and a video in an hour..and my computer is brand new like not even a moth old and it still goes slow..is there any other way to get it to go faster ive even used bearshre and its no better.. |
