I have never been able to view any movie that I have been downloading... it will never let me preview a movie no matter what movies I am ever downloading... now I am only downloading 4 movies.. I don't like trying to download more than that because than my kb/s will go down... I can only ever watch it once its %100 and then there is not a problem

I thought so to.. I can preview music but not movies... oh well... my downloading is very fast, so its not a big deal.. i generally only have to wait a few hours for a movie to finish downloading.. If the bitzi isn't good than I don't... i would just like to see it, but if I can't than i cant'

Question ISP Upload Throttling for P2P Rarely in Forum!

Hello Mr. Lee Evans & other helpful experts: I'll get this done first...Win XP Pro w/SP2, AMD Athlon XP 86, LimeWire 4.13 BETA
1400MHz clock, 1.2GByte SDRAM, 256MB Radeon 9200 Pro, HD's 70% free, home. Some weeks ago posted 'Astonishing Statement by ISP' and am puzzled there was so little helpful comment (except by 6Pac), particularly by very knowledgeable President Mr. Lee Evans, who writes great posts. Is the very serious problem of P2P Upload BANDWIDTH THROTTLING by Internet Service Providers all over North America, an unmentionable topic, similar to Social Security for politicians? I leave my computer on LimeWire sharing for days sometimes, and the successful 100% uploads (x?) compared to number of hits (y?), easily averages 1/300...during a test of almost two weeks when I upgraded my Eastlink.ca connection to an advertised optimum upload speed of 125KILOBYTES per sec (9X faster), it remained at exactly the same choked down P2P upload of 3, that's 3KILOBYTES per sec 24 hours a day. I am in the city about half a mile away from Eastlink's service node and P2P upload is still locked at 3KB per sec no matter what time of day; 4PM or 4AM...so it certainly isn't traffic loads, which they tried to use as an excuse before I learned about BW Throttling (see above mentioned previous post). I have learned a lot from the helpful technical posts in this Forum, but next to nothing about how to lessen the most serious problem facing P2P. It is rarely if ever mentioned and affects millions of P2P users. My bottom line question is why is the discussion and help about this serious problem missing? Mr. Evans, your turn. Yours truly, caseybob

Hi Caseybob,
LeeWare's most recent post was June 28th, 2006. Perhaps he's not posting on the forum any more?

When you reply to an ancient thread, you may not get a reply from the OP. You can always click on the poster's name > find all posts by...that's a bit of a guide as to whether they're still active in the forum or not

Default Birdy Reply about Upload Problems

Your reply that Leeware has not posted for a year is a point well taken. However, my principal question remains; why is discussion about most serious problem facing P2P's very rare in Forums (ISP Bandwidth Throttling). I posted as 'Reply' to old but very good advice by Leeware. Should have posted 'New Thread', which will do today.
Thanks, caseybob
