I did the bandwidth test and my communication speed is 960.3kbps. Still havn't been able to tell if my ISP has some sort of limitation on p2p sharing. I am also usually downloading from someone with atleast another cable connection as far as I can tell. By the way, thanks for all the help. I appreciate all the patience, I hardly know anything about this stuff and I am trying to grasp it. |

for a handy explanation of how gnutella works, see Arne Babenhauserheide's writeup at www.gnufu.net . for broadband tests (java based) that also give you upload speeds, I like http://www.broadbandreports.com/stest for more info on whether your ISP currently or plans to filter p2p traffic, you'll have to ask them. Others have posted their findings here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=20678 for info on the US law and filesharing, see http://www.eff.com/share/ Welcome--it's a pretty good community here |

Uploading files I assume you can download files? Are you behind a firewall? If so LimeWire supports a push function that allows you to make an outbound connection to a person requesting a file from your computer. if you like I can help you test this function. Just reply to this thread and we can set up a test.

MSN Messenger That would be correct. If you don't have a firewall then by default you should be able to share. I assume you know how to use limewire if not, I have course which explains how to use the application. [free] Again if you have MSN Messenger just use the information to contact me and I can help you setup a test.
