new user has easy questions Hello. I just downloaded limwire. It starts up alright, BUT never seems to actually connect. When i look at the 'connections' window, it is constantly shuffling through possible servers /networks to which it says it is connecting. IF it actually connects (which is almost never) then it doesn't stay connected. I have a 56K modem. Is this to slow to use the program? If not, what is the problem? How can I get connections and stay connected? any insights greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

replying to my own message here. I should add more info: I am using OSX. I'm connecting through my school's network but from my home. I have no idea whether the school has a firewall, though it well might (if I've got the whole thing right that is - maybe I'm using the words in the wrong way)? anyway, i hope this information will make my first question easier to answer. |
