Burpy Audio Downloads, Often Corruption... I'm just going to rant here...
You know... you pay for a piece of software..
Most of the time I will crack or patch software... occasionally, I purchase quality software, stuff that is a good price point for value, or being developed by a small group of associates or an indivdual..
So here's this Guntella Client... no spyware, java based is a downer in a windows envirionment, but nice interface... And tired of trying to fix Kazaa (Even the new Kazaa Lite is buggy and bad install), I purchase it. Hey, if 10 bucks stops me from having to patch a p2p application all the time... well worth it.
But what the hell is going on...
A Gnutella Client that only reports 100,000 files or less most of the time? The download engine seems to suck, giving you the burps in audio, or corrupted files... And this has got to be the SLOWEST application to share files...
Shoulda got the crack... Don't make me regret a purchase here Limewire... step up to the plate... BFTP has it right, good applications, low cost, and lifetime updates. And though the stats are nice, accurate reporting is more important. And most importantly WHY JAVA? Perhaps if you are running a Java Based system this thing would smoke, but the majority of your users (I'm guessing here) are Windows based. So an extra isolated memory space and extra memory usage are not my cup of tea in a Win32 envirionment... Need a VB developer? |
