Gone with the wind I appreciate very much your soft, and bought online Limewire Pro version 2.7xx (17 I guess). I'm running it on a Mandrake 9 linux OS. Installed & configured 2 light rules based software firewalls (shorewall & bastille). I've validated the ultrapeer possibilities (DSL connection through PPPoA).
I logged in, this morning, the 20th at 7 AM (GMT +1). We were about 5 servers connected at this time. I'm sharing 120 mp3 files. Took a shower, came back, and all music files were destroyed.
Can you help me out of this ? I saw that my private static IP is directly monitored in the connection list... Are there secure workarounds ? Are "hackers" using your own backdoor ? Who is hacking ? Is there a to do list ?
If you help me, I'll try to give it back to you (put everything on a cdrom)...
Best regards,
