![]() I have a modem, 56k (cannot have cable etc due to remote area in which i live). I have just been using the new version of limewire, 2.8 and my download speeds have halved or worse. I was getting around anywhere from 3-5kb/s and downloading up to 3 files at the same time with average speeds of around 3-3.5kb/s. I basically had very good success with downloads (for a modem!). Unfortunately since changing to the new version it has been HELL to say the least, download speed is anywhere from 0-2 and if im lucky 3kb/s!!. Worse still, i can only download 1 file at a time (it doesnt seem to like 2-3 downloads?) and most downloads drop out! Can someone please help? i have tried to optimise things but with no success, any suggestions for what i can do? I have not changed anything else on the computer, so it is definetly the software and possibly, hopefully just the settings that need changing? Paul |
