We (I) also want to know "how long is the queue on THAT file" we (I) are trying to download...
That's not yet part of the queueing protocol but it has been discussed on the gdf.

We (I) want to see WHo is Downloading what from OUR (mine) harddisks.. We (I) don't want to see what everyone are downloading from everyone else...
What do you expect? Name, location, social insurance number??? In my opinion, the IP is more than enough and if you want to know more about the people downloading from you, you can still chat with them ot browse their hosts.

And we (I) do want this Cannot move to Librarry thing fixed.. WE don't like spending hours of downloading just to have the file ending up "Cannot move to library). If the file isn't complete.. we would like to be able to download it completely or that we ourselves can move it to the right folder... not just disappearing to somewhere
If the file can't be moved to the Library, the incomplete file should remain in your incomplete folder so you can copy it manually.

No. At least the loginname - as here in the forum.. Then you at least see cadman344234 downloading file "Kiss me" and see how long he has downloading the file and maybe the speed... Like WinMX. If i want to chat with that one - i just click on the name and selects chat.. Or i can see what that guy has on his harddisk - if ther is anything i like to download from him

No, It is not there. We all have looked there (the first place to look)... and the downloaded file isn't there.... so it is impossible to move that file then. Maybe there could be anohter file with similiar name - but not that much downloaded..

I'm not using v2.8.6 anymore but it should be already possible to see how long he has been downloading in 2.8.6, to chat and to browse his hard disk. LW 3.0 definitely has tooltips that show some information about the downloader.

Chatting however is not always easy without central server so you can't chat with all the people downloading from you (especially not NAT'ed people).

Then you must be using a Mac. On a PC LimeWire seems to leave the incomplete file in the incomplete directory when the couldn't move to library error occurs at the end of the download. I already submitted a patch to the LimeWire team that fixes those errors (at least on windows and linux but it should also work for Macs) but it has not been released yet. (LW 3.0 should be released in a month or so.)

Yes I am using a mac.

The latest version available is 2.8.6 and i got it. But it is good to hear about somethingnew that seems to work. Hope it comes soon. Until then i guess i won't be downloading anything. Seems so useless to try.

Thumbs down unhappy

I downloaded LimewirePro to my mac and am STILL very unhappy with it. Seems there's no one out there to talk to... I even reported a notification that I have a bug but no one responded. Limewire is a waste of time (and the money I spent upgrading). It should be called 'lemonwire' instead...

of course you are not satisfied with this LimeWire. I stopped loading from this a time ago... it eats memory and it is slow and you don't ge4t any files anyway... If you get some files.. most of them ends up "cannot move to library" and you don't have the files anyway.
I think this stinks too. I have also tried to write and report this problem.. The email - help@limewire.com address (or what it was).. doesn't work anyway.

But i heard it will come an update soon... Hope that the new update will work anyway.
As far as i know this limewire-**** is the only thing for macs... For pc:s there are many different kind of workign networks.. (WinMX, Gnucuelus ??, Kazaa and so on)....

Of course - there might be some underground networks but i think many of them are very strange and hard to find out what to do and also to find them...

Wink concure

such a decent looking app that is 90% useless - and really more than that for the amount of time wasted and the inability to contact anyone directly- that is tantamount to a sin. Doesn't this stuff come with Aldadins 10 for 10 - seems like someone should own up. Maybe the record industry is holding the programmers hostage. Maybe we should send out a search party. Another thing that doesn't work on my version- the chat function- I know I feel like I am in jail. Nice ideas as far as functions and features are concerned- browsing host etc. Hey does anyone know how to take an address from Lime and "plug" it into like Aquisition? Then I would save LIme for the just for search functions

Default EVERYBODY JUST SWITCH TO BEARSHARE

I CHECKED OUT BEARSHARE AND ITS BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE OUT THERE!!! With over 4 million user's there is plenty of sources, and the best part is that the searches actually come up with results!!!
Get away from LIMEWIRE its a waste of your time, and if you have a slow CPU you know it takes foreever to load!!!! I have got over 100 songs off bearshare off my 56 k modem in the last week! Every one of them does not skip either!!! Start enjoying music again with BEARSHARE, just make sure you share your files and it will be fine!!!

SHAREAZA does use a different protocol which runs along side the gnutella 1 network!!! It is called GNUTELLA 2!!

Hi Trance999 thanks for the advice. Now comes the question: will it work for the mac? I'll go on line and find out. If it's that good for your 56k modem, it'll be amazing for my high speed cable. Here's hoping. Thanks again. Will let you know.
