Question not getting all of downloaded music/skipping in parts of song

When my music is downloaded 100% and I try to play it back so I can burn it, the song is skipping in parts of it. Every one I've downloaded so far has done that. Could you please tell me what the problem is and how I can fix it?

Angry ME TOO!!!

I've been having the same problem lately as well! I've been a limewire user for over a year now, currently sharing over 550 files, and NEVER had as many problems as I've had in the last few days. Every song is garbled/warped sounding! Anyone who can, PLEASE HELP!!!

Some companies are flooding gnutella with corrupted files in order to force people to buy the music instead of downloading it.

Question now what?

I really wish that the money hungry mongers in the music industry would realize that filesharing is part of the future of music! I've come to appreciate and purchase music that I NEVER would have before because of networks like Napster and especially Limewire. Think of the money they are wasting paying a bunch of geeks to spread bogus files around, when they could be using it to figure out new ways of promoting music!
So what do you suggest in the meantime? I downloaded around 50-60 music files in the last few days and, so far, EVERY one has been at least partially "garbled"! And I have ONLY downloaded music with 4 stars. I'm not about to give up OR give in to buying all my music (I'm such a music junkie I'd be broke), but this IS awfully frustrating, and a waste of time. What is being done to combat this? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Question ???

Here's a twist - I tried checking some music files that I downloaded before that I know sounded good then, but now they skip and stutter like the new files I've downloaded, no matter what music player I play them in. Now I'm really confused!!!

Hmmm--sounds like a hardware/disk problem. What OS do you use?

Don't use LimeWire to play your music. The LimeWire mp3 player sucks.

Default and...

don't forget to maintain a VERY healthy level of doubt re: your 'sound-card' and the drivers you may or may not be using for said 'card'...

Also, a possible (probable ?) fragmented HDD ?
