My files now being saved as generic doc? I'm using Mac OS 9.2.2, and LimeWire just started doing something it wasn't doing before. First of all, while I'm d'loading, I can't launch the preview, which used to be launched in Quicktime. Also, when my file is complete and verified, the file is no longer appearing as a Quicktime file, but a generic document that has to be linked to Quicktime (or whichever player I use) when I try to open it. I am able to open the file, and convert it to the player of my choice (SoundJam)...but it's now going through those new and unnecessary that is annoying. Anyone have a clue what happened? I will try re-installing both LimeWire and QuickTime, but I wanted to see if anyone else had that happen. BTW...This happened over a month after I upgraded to LimeWire 2.8.6. Regards, Tink |
Hey, I think I figgered it out! Well, I did a few searches on the forums here, and found what I think is the answer in another client's thread. I wasn't aware that you could set your preferred player as the primary one for internet playback...when I did that with SoundJam, I could even play the previewed file in SoundJam. Something I never could do before. Another successful case of self-service! Tink |
