downloading from a college campus?

Hi, I downloaded the new free version of Limewire a few weeks ago, and I haven't been able to download a single file... While the status says that i am downloading the files, the progress bar stays at 0 for hours. I attend a large university, but have never had this problem with past versions of limewire. Is the university blocking Limewire? Is that even possible? Or is there something else that I need to do to get this working?

If not, I want my old version back! It worked just fine!

Your university could be using a traffic shaper to make gnutella upload/download traffic very slow. There are companies making a living of selling software / hardware that blocks p2p clients.

If no download ever reaches 1 or 2kbytes/s your university is probably restricting p2p traffic (like most universities btw.).
