i have a few of my songs and programmes i want to leave for friends to pick up via limewire. i give the files specific names for them to search for but they can never find them. any ideas?

One sure way of finding eachother on Gnutella is to do the following:

You and your friends should be in direct contact with eachother by e-mail or messenger or chat service.

You should go to your Library and click the refresh button.

Then you should look at the IP addresses of the UltraPeers that you are connected to(Check under the Connections tab). Select the UltraPeer that you have stayed connected to the longest. And e-mail or in some other way send the IP address of that UltraPeer to your friend and tell him/her to to the following with it:

"In LimeWire Click The Connections Tab and in the little field where you can type paste or manually type the Ip address in there and then click the Add button. Now wait a minute!

Then search for my files and they should show up in your search result!."

If this does not work then just send him/her your Ip address instead and ask him /her to do the same thing whit your IP address instead. You could also try to add your friends IP address (he/she have to send it to you)under your Connections and see if the situation will improve.
