Cool

Hello!

Just create a new shared folder for saving and sharing files. Name it Shared2 and place it on the root level on your HD. And all should be fine again.

This problem with LW suddenly not accepting a particular directory sure is a strange one and both the Macintosh and Windows versions are affected by it. There seems not to be any other solution then to just change the directory.

I have my download and shared folders on another partition, seems to work ok, but i can't be sure. Downloads are fine(even sharing), though my other shared folders get 'hits' but seldome uploads... i've even done specifc searches for stuff i know is being shared but they never turn up in searches... any ideas?

thanks

Hi,

I had the same problem with my shared folder being changed to "default" by Limewire after upgrading.

Try completely "uninstalling" all previous versions of Limewire prior to installing the newest upgrade. Using the "install wizard" choose the folder you want to save to and share from. It seems to have worked for me so far.

Unhappy saved folder

I have done all of the above mentioned tasks and I still cannot create a shared folder. I get the error at start up and when I go to slect another folder the selection window hangs.

Anybody with a good solution?

i have had similar probs in the past and can offer this advice

make sure you do not have 2 or 3 shared folders(can happen after up******* re-installation , as this can cause confusion nb they may not be in your system folder, try your documents folder

toss your limewire prefs, your shared folder(minus files) and your incomplete folder(minus any downloads you wish to keep)
empty the trash ,do a restart then start up limewire it will create new folders in your preferences folder
you will have to reconfigure limewire but that isn't a lot

finally shut limewire down and put any files shared or incomplete files in their respective folders

hope this helps

Question ALSO HAVE SIMULAR PROBLEM

I just download this. I've had Shareaza a couple of weeks and kazaa (abandoned btw)for a few months. I tried to use my old kazaa folder for this to upload from, but it would'nt accept it.so, what you're saying is I have to move it to the first window in the hard drive? I've got 8GB of stuff in there it would take long time to move. So, I'llwait until I get a reply saying this is the right thing to do before I move it.
I figure I can use this program for software and Shareaza for music. Not at the same time, I guess.
The Shareaza forum needs that search field like this one has. I imagine they will have it soon. I'm rambling now. Thanks in advance!!

P.S. How big can your avatar be in demintions and kb?

I also have no real problems connecting and staying connected...of course there is the problem of getting a download slot, but that's a different fish...
.........LW isn't recognizing my file because SHAREAZA allready hahed them. no biggie I was just tring to satisfy a liittle curiousity that's all.
BTW: I ran into a couple of reviews of SHAREAZA. They basically said it was the best thing since sliced bread. 1.9 is the lastest version. I wish I could have used this one to see for myself.
