Default File sharing problems

I've just installed LimeWire for windows 98 and I have selected my shared directory which already contains subdirectories.
Now, the files in the shared directory itself will share, but not the ones in the subdirectories. At the bottom of the LimeWire window, it says 'sharing 38/412 files'. Most of the files are mp3's. Any idea why this is happening?
Is there an option for 'not sharing files in subdirectories'?

Hang on a sec... the figure is slowly creeping up... I think I just need to wait it out.

Default Hashing

The first time you load Limewire and begin to put together a group of files for sharing, the system has to "hash" the files before they can be "seen" by Gnutella. It should make no difference whether the files are in a directory or subdirectory, the length of time it takes will be determined by the total size of the files to be processed. If you only sleep your computer, the only files to be hashed at the start of your next Limewrie session will be those you have added to the Shared system since the last hash. But if you Restart, or Shut Down and Start your computer, Limewire will rehash the files at the start of the next session. You must therefore prepare yourself for a short delay at the beginning of each "new" session. And congratulations on keeping Windows 98. You have therefore preserved your privacy from the more invasive tactics introduced by Microsoft into their later operating systems (assuming, that is, you have not allowed a later version of Windows Media Player on to your machine?! in which case you should install a sensible firewall or reporting system like Zone Alarm).
