Help Me With Downloading
 

Heres the problem
Although on the top of my bar on the screen it says "enabling open information sharing" when I try to download any kind of anything (audio/video files, pics, etc.) nothing happens like i'll click on audio and fill in all the needed info. and everything, but when I press search nothing happens. Whats going on

p.s. I dont know if this is a problem but at the bottom of my screen it says that I am not sharing any files

Well, the not sharing anything COULD be a problem, and it will be, but I don't think it is. Most people block freeloader, who are people who don't share anything or share very little.

I would recommend waiting a couple minutes after starting LW to let it build some connections. Is the little lime spinning when you search? Please provide your specs as well.

Are you sure you are connected? Click on the connections tab and see if you have hosts listed, also the "bullet" to the left where you see "sharing zero files should be green. If it is red you aren't connected.

As Blackbird mentioned not sharing files will greatly reduce your returns. It should not, however, completely eleminate them.

Thanx a lot guys I owe u guys a mill.

Since ive got my cd burner (back in april) I ve been searching everywhere for a GOOD site that lets macs download audio and video files Ive been to Kazaa, Morpheus, Audio Galaxy, Imesh, everywhere. But I just couldnt find anything. They all only worked for PCs. But now that Ive found Livewire I can finally download my music. Thanx a lot u guys dont know how much this really means to me.

Just one more thing, how do I start sharing my audio files.

Go to your preferences and specify a shared folder.

Okay yesterday I downloaded one audio file and put it in my library
But today my bullet is red and it says that Im not sharing any files when yesterday I was sharing that one that I downloaded. And I know that this is because im not connected but after I log in on the enternet and go to file (in Limewire) and press "connect" nothing happens my computer just stays disconnected and the bullet stays red. But sometimes (like yesterday ) my computer connects just fine. Whats going on?! And do I have to have other host connections to be able to start downloading my files?

And do you know any really good audio/video downloading sites that work with Macintosh computers or is Limewire my best bet? Tell the truth!

You're having intermittent connections? Is that what you're saying?

Is the Connect on Startup option selected in your preferences?
