Couldnt find anything in the search for this problem so im adding it to the list, but if it has been discussed before apologies.

OK this is my problem:

I find a file to dowload - its starts and can go up to 30k (i have cable) - so far so good.

But if i leave it downloading for more than five minutes (it's not a set period of time) then the download goes in to "waiting" mode. I thought at first it might be becuase i had just downloaded as much as that particular user had, but it happens to every file i try.

Now heres the odd thing - if i then do a search for the file im downloading, and it brings up the results, my download starts again.

Of course five minutes later it goes in to waiting and i have to repeat the procedure again.

Its a pain in the xxxxx so if anyone has any ideas im all ears.

Im running an imac g4 with the latest Limewire. Max OSX 10.2 and cable modem (but this has happened with dial-up too).

You can test downloading from mt hosts by executing a search for CBT - select a file that is less than 2MB and click download. If you notice your downloads stalling click over to your connections tab to see if you still have a connection to the network.
