I know there is no way to get spyware from downloading limewire ( except the lime show thing has bundled software ) but is there any way to get it from downlading music on limewire!?

i know i can get viruses, but can i get spyware or ad-ware on the basic version? i have windows xp and the newest version of the basic limewire. i know you cant get spyware from downloading the program itself, but can i get spyware from downloading music from limewire!?

A music file is just a music file. Asking if you can get spyware from it is like asking if you can get pummeled by a piano. Sure, if someone drops the piano on you it'll hurt -- but just by playing the piano (and, likewise, just by playing the music file), no spyware can be installed.

However, if you download executables or other 'active' things, then you run the risk of installing whatever that program installs.

if yopu have limewire basic you have some spy-ware. The pro version does not have any spy-ware. and why not get the pro version, its only 10 dollars.
