Angry Big Downloads disappear

Hi people

I've been trying to download an mpg which is 427MB. At speeds of 2KBps, you'll all know that this takes several days to do and I've been going at this for 2 weeks now. I've twice got to about 77 percent of the file and then the next time I log in the count is back to zero.

Can anyone explain what is happening here?

Sounds like you're probably using an older version of limewire that doesn't backup the incomplete file.

Arrow still confused

Thanks, but it successfully backed-up over days and days during multiple log-in/out sessions and then suddenly disappeared.

I'm running Limewire 3.4.4, which I upgraded to recently - I haven't noticed a further update, but will investigate.

In addition to what Blackbird says, you can check the preference that sets the number of days to keep incomplete files--maybe it needs to be set to something higher than the default of 7 days.

Too, look in your incomplete folder. If you're lucky, you have several versions of a similar file (but not identical)--maybe you can "resume" the largest one. As you might know, there can be many versions of similarly named files.

Thumbs up I think you're on to something there!

the preferences idea sounds likely.

there are no files in my incomplete folder to resurrect, just zero KB remnants of my previews of the show.

looking at my preferences, I see that it's currently set to delete uncomplete files after 2 days.

I feel so stupid but it's great to have a solution - thanks people!
