Red face Totally new @ this & can't download

Well I thought it would be easier than this!So before I am sorry I paid & downloaded Limewire I guess I had better ask guestions.
Is there more to just "downloading"? All I am trying to do is download songs to a CD in my D drive.
So after I choose a song, I click on download,I see it downloading but where did it go? (its not on the CD!) Maybe it has something to do with "the path".What should it be??How should it be written? I'm not totally stupid when it comes to computers but a little help would be greatly appreciated. Also could someone tell me what "settings" everything should be on for best results or is there a site that tells you? So I'll be waiting for you guidance.

Let me try to help you.

You do not download directly to a CD. You have to burn a file to a CD.

I assume your CD is a burner and you are using a blank writable CD. If your CD is a player you can not put anything on it. The burner should have came with some kind of burning software. Possibly "Nero" or you might have "Musicmatch". At any rate you need a program to burn a CD.

As to where your downloaded files are. Open Limewire and at the top menu bar select - TOOLS, OPTIONS, SAVING and you will see where Limewire is putting your downloads. You can change this location but not to a CD drive.

In addition you are usually downloading songs in an MP3 format which is a compressed format. These can be played on your computer and some CD players without decompression but many players will require them to be decompressed. Your CD burner program will do this for you.

I hope this helps you.

Norm

Thank you Norm!
So just so I have it straight in my head I'll go over what I think you are trying to tell me. So please bare with me.
The program that came with my computer is Roxio PureBurn, and yes I have writeable CD's
The one thing I don't get clear in my head is how do I get it from the "Library" in Limewire on to a CD in the D drive. And I don't know where the burner comes in to play.I understand what it does but do I have it open also?
Thanks again,
Gail

Gail,

You will use Roxio to burn your CD. After you have downloaded your songs close Limewire and open Roxio. Follow the instructions to create a CD. It will have have you navigate to your download directory, select the songs you want and Roxio will copy (burn) them to your CD.

It is two separate actions. First download the files. Second burn them to a CD.

I know it sounds complicated now but after you do it things will seem easy.

Good luck,

Norm
