Well, for the record, I was (and still am) using version 3.6.14.

I have yet to upgrade to 3.6.15 (the current version) and still I had the problem. I'm not sure it's specific to the code of that one version.

Dang! All worked well when I reverted to LimeWire 3.6.7jum227 OS X, so I then tried LimeWire 3.6.14jum233 overnight.
Thought it looked OK, but now I'm not sure. Numbers show about 282MB downloaded for a 219MB file, and it uploaded to the mesh quite actively.

I'll try again with 3.6.12jum231 tonight.

Stief, my friend, it appears you're driving yourself mad with this problem.

So far it has yet to happen again - although I am not attempting to download that specific file anymore.

Is it a possibility that the problem in on the host's side? Perhaps their version of Limewire has the code problem? If so, then it may not be the version we're using.

Thus, it becomes an upload problem on the host's side, not a download problem. Again, I'm just tossing out ideas. I'll keep checking here to see how your tests and experiments go.

Do you work for LimeWire? Or just love I.T. problem/solutions? Just asking.

LOL--just curious how these things work. I'm not an expert, don't work for LW, but really can't walk away from puzzles. As you know, LW is an opensource project, and 'it takes all sorts'. So, since a lot of the experts helped me, I try to 'pay it forward' . Basically, I hate being a leech. Sounded like you had similar interests, so I jumped in.

Cheers--we still don't have an answer to your original question besides the usual "might be . . ."
