Default Instable download-connections

I just tried downloading the following file:

magnet:?xt=urn:sha1:IJUP7VDGLRBMVPV5...sik/nymphe.mp3

(This file (you can get via this magnet-link) is free to share, like all mp3s from http://draketo.de )

As it didn't find the file in Gnutella, Acquisition aka LimeWire defaulted to the Web-Location, from which a download should work all the time (works with a normal browser).
But after 100kB the download stopped (host busy), resumes, when I told it too, but then stopped again after another 100kB (I played this game for some time, just for fun).

My Server can supply dsl-users without problems, I didn't test it for higher connections, but it has four GWebCaches running on it (Don't already run one? http://gnucleus.com/gwebcache/ ) without choking.

This means, that LimeWire drops connections unnecessarily.

I'm using Acquisition 103.4, which should include the current beta-core of LW.

just tried it--Safari didn't fire up LW, but went straight to the Web and returned

Are you sure the magnet is properly formatted? The jum magnets http://www.mager.org/LimeWire/LimeWire.html work fine.

I formatted it like this to get it to fire up in LW

Yes, it is, but the url tags around it added an http:// in front of the URL. You have to remoce that, then the download starts.

I can't modify the post, since I have registered with another name (didn't remmber that, when posting and didn't want to trouble with it now).
The way you formatted it, you won't find the additional source, because I don't have a stable IPÜ, nor a dns entry for my computer running acq.

The proper URI looks like this:

magnet:?xt=urn:sha1:IJUP7VDGLRBMVPV555J2I44JSPNZDA HD&dn=Die%20Nymphe%20und%20der%20Wanderer%2emp3&xs =http://dlaikar.de/arnebab/musik/nymphe.mp3

It uses a webserver as alternate location (xs).

That works--downloaded 5% then went to busy.

It downloads directly from my webserver. It shouldn't go busy.

Click retry, and after many retries you'll have the file.

Why can't LimeWire download from a webserver? The Server doesn't go busy, so there must be a connection bug in the LW Core.

I experienced earlier, that LW connections aren't the most stable, this shows, that there really seems to be a bug in it.

I don't know--the graph in downloads shows that I'm getting the 100KB bursts every 60 seconds. This is almost identical to what I saw when my ISP experimented with NBAR and Sandvine p2p controls.

I tried another magnet from http://www.magnetmix.com/index.shtml and that came through fine. Looks like your server/ISP is involved. Let me know if you want the screenshots, or better yet, install a jum or LW and check out the upload graphs yourself.

Has Dave added any way to add an advanced stats module to Acq?
