I have tried to use the chat button when on Limewire and although a window comes up, I can't do anything with it.

Type your message in the text box at the bottom of the chat window and hit return to send it.

That was what I thought originally. But it does not work for me. The window comes up but the software doesn't allow me to type in it. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

no--I just tried it and it works. Does yours have the single line text box just above the buttons where I drew the arrow?
