Yes your ISP. The port 6346 is used from Limewire by default, I learned that Limwire is choosing a different one if this port is used by an other applications, but I not sure if LW can recodnize if one port is blocked.

firewall

Mac os X has a firewall included in the os. You need to open the System prefrences from the Apple menu. Open the shareing utility, select the firewall tab. select your prefrences and activate. Your fire wall will then be fully in place. Check system updates, for security updates. The updates just keep comming.

Is Limewire able to connect through this firewall for 30 seconds? I think not... the firewall should block the connection at once.

There is a firewire option in os X 10.1.
I think you have to search through the system prefrences to find it and turn it on. I can't remember exactly where. I do remember seeing it and turning it on. Perhaps you can find a hint in the help menu.

Thanks for the info!

i found it in my extensions file.....however being quite new to the osx platform, i don't know if it is activated or how do you activate it? in classic i could do it with the extension manager, does anyone know anything further on this??

Firewall for OSX 10.1

You can go to Versiontracker.com and search for "Brickhouse" this is an application that will give you a link to turning on, and controleing your Firewall software. Not too hard to download and install. You should find your way in the application ok.
