downloads file

using limewire to download files is fine but any specified file that i use to send the completed downloads to seems corrupt but has no apparent virus`
what happens when i open the file is that it automatically shuts down and resets to the desktop
changing the download file location doestnt help either as the same problem occurs wherever the file is sent to
any sollutions?????
