Default leafnode, ultrapeer?

i'm a new user and have been able to download fairly well. When i click the enable button to monitor incoming searchs i get this message "Your client is a leaf node shielded by an ultrapeer. Hence you will see few or no searchs in the monitor window." I do see searches in the window, they scroll by fairly quickly but i have nothing to compare it to. So my question is what does this message mean, does it affect my downloads, and does it affect my uploads. thanks for your help, c

ps - i have a cable broadband connection, and use a mac laptop with airport wireless.

It doesn't really mean anything. You send your ultrapeers a keyword filter to filter out queries that don't concern you. Those queries don't appear in your monitor view because they never reach you. It does not affect your uploads.

Hi et voilà
I was looking for some explanation of these terms too. Your suggested link at http://gnufu.net is now empty. Do you have other suggestions?
