Gnutella Forums - search becomes disconnected unable to search

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place I've only started using limewire since I got my first computer last November.
I've been avidlly sharing files and collecting lots of music and video until about a week ago. I'm searching and downloadind one minute and disabled the next. I saw something in faq that advised to click file and click connect and watch the red light turn to green but that doesnt work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it just returns disconnect(no files to share) with all of the same upload activity but, with the search still turned off.

I was able to regain search when i uninstalled and then waited for about 24hrs and only then when i reinstalled did it come back with a green light and the usual banner - enabling to connect...so,
I then began enjoying limewire again - but 2 or three days later I was disconnecteedd again and this has now happened a 3rd time, this morning and I would really appreciate some help.

Have I maxed out because I'm only using basic and I'm being forced to get pro? or can someone tell this novice what I'm failing to do?
