you don't need to register, but do need to give enough info so that someone who had a similar problem could tell you of their solution. Unregistered users are sometimes trolls or not very serious, so are more likely to be ignored though.

If suddenly and repeatedly you are getting no sources, something is amiss.

Easiest check is to uninstall all the old pieces of LW and download a fresh copy of the latest version or the latest beta version. If the problem persists, try a different client to check that your system allows responses from the gnutella network.

If neither client works, something in your system or upstream of you is blocking gnutella responses.

Details? Depends on your system.

cheers

green = connected
red = disconnected
sharing files = the files you are offering to share

Only while you are connected and someone want it... this is called FILE SHARING!

All files which are in your shared folder (or other enabled folders) are shared, doesnīt matter which type.

I am not sure if you can restrict the types which Limewire shares. I know you can filter the search that Limewire donīt show it in the search but only when YOU are searching for files...

You didnīt get it right?

This here is called FILE SHARING not FREELOADING... you want to download your files so share yours. Donīt come back and tell us how slow your downloads are you are one of the reasons!!!

btw Limewire has a credit option, if you donīt share you will get your files MUCH harder.

If you are fearing the risk, BUY the stuff...

Over and out.

LOL--other than the cmu link, those pages looked like they were written for daycares, not universities!

They should have been called Leech to Peer filesharing tips.

If you want an adult view of peer to peer filesharing in the USA, see http://www.eff.com/IP/P2P/howto-notgetsued.php

btw--the laws vary from country to country. Many of us share legitimate material. I'd suggest it you are not sharing legitimate material, use another network.
