I have found the most amazing tracks and remixes you never would of thought to of found. Only problem is.....over half of them have been in the "awaiting sources" mode. I just couldn't bear to lose these tracks!!! Is there anyway of expediting the download process?????

The simplest way is to wait. Yup, it can get annoying but if the files you're talking about are that rare then you should expect them to be stuck there for some time (if you're unlucky).
Always remember: the more sources available (for the same file), then the faster the download (in general).
If you found, like, a file that's only available by one person on a Modem connection and with only one to two stars (worst case scenario, ok?) then when you double click the file to download, be sure you know what you're getting yourself into. Don't expect it anytime soon, especially since the uploader can at all times disconnect for any number of reasons and/or get too busy and Queue you download 'cause he's uploading his rare files to too many people.

No matter what client you may be using, Quit occasionally... Like at least every 24 hrs... When you relaunch you will have a very 'sincere' attempt at resuming Downloads.

Other things you can do, but it depends a bit on the client.

Main thing is to NOT do anything that is particularly 'harmful' to the network.

Also your firewall could be blocking the IP address you downloading from. I've had that happen to me before.

But that's a last resort effect.

I've found that if you are doing a general search you can obtain more sources and speed up your download by doing a more specific search at the same time. (i.e., general -ROCK/[artist name]
specific [artist name / song title].)
