Erased Downloads List (!)

It seems that my entire list of downloads has been erased.... however the .dat and .bak files still exist in the incomplete directory. I see no reason why, today when i start limewire, there is NOTHING in the list to download from when i shutdown last.

What happened? What is the fix? Is there anyway to rebuild a new download list and refresh the download dat files? Thanks.

Check if the Incompletes folder under LW's Library tab contains the downloads that dissapeared from the downloading window.
If they do, the just click them one by one and Resume them.
If they don't exist there then they might have been deleted by the program if they have been "Awaiting Sources" for a while (this "while" being specified by the number of days you set on the Preferences/Options to keep the incompletes).
As I understand, an "Awaiting sources" status equals a "Inactive status" which should (I'm not 100% sure) qualify these downloads to be erased after the specified period has come to pass.

You're Right!

Oh my gosh, you are right! I can restart any of the 865 partially downloaded files from THAT screen!!! even though limewires bug cleared my download list. IT puts them back.

Thank you! I appreciate people on this forum. :)

Hey, I'm just glad I could help.
If that ever happens again be sure to resume the downloads before the period after which the incompletes will be cleared (specified in the Preferences/Options) because then you will have to restart the downloads from scratch.

I did the same thing and while I figured out how to get the file to resume, it is showing zero amount downloaded where as before I had 93% of a really big file. The file is showing up red colored in the Library tab area. Am I screwed? Or will it remember it downloaded part of the file before? Please help...

I don't think that the red fils are the ones to click resume on.
If you remember the approximate download percentage before the download dissapeared and also remember how big the file was then you should click resume on the file that most closely matches that.
Or simply look for the biggest file and resume that.

btw, can anyone tell me just what exactly ARE those suspicious red files (I always figured they were the ones created by LW for previewing everytime I clicked the Launch button but somehow I think that's wrong)

hmm... i copied and pasted the file back into the incomplete folder and now it is a black file and not red, but it still shows zero percent downloaded... and is waiting for sources I should add. I'm just wondering if it will pick up where it left off or if it will start over from zero.

You can also try the following, altough you have less chances of succeeding:
Run a search for the file you were dlding. If you find the file then click Download (or 2ble-click it).
If it's the right file then the download will resume automatically from were it left off.

rats. when i double click it plays in itunes... i think i'll have to download it again from zero... shucks. well thanks for all your help. i appreciate it.

Wait, wait,
Before you erase the file or anything, did you check if the file was complete when you listened to it in iTunes?
I once tried to download [A good film] and it got at like 99% and alla of a sudden it restarted by itself from scratch. I went to the Incompletes folder tocheck it out and found that the file was complete (well, it was radically corrupted so I didn't keep it).
