i have the same problem. DSL, one file downloading at 1 to 0kb/s?????
There has to be an obvious explanation.
I've been trying to download a 259mb file for two weeks!!!!!! With DSL???? And Limewire Pro???

I didn't have these problems with Limewire Basic. I paid for this???

makes pro sound like, look like, spyware

Default slow downloads

Peerless you should try giving better customer service. i too paid for limewire pro - turbocharged and i can tell you that downloads of 1-3kbs average are not worth paying a lot of money for. i have highspeed, 1GB of ram and was sukked in by the TURBOCHARGED CLAIM. change your advertising and tell truthfully what speeds to expect

Customer service? Dude, this is a forum made by users for users!

Again, your highspeed connection is useless if the source has a 56k modem.

LOL! You mean a turbocharged car won't get through a busy drivethrough at MacDonald's faster than my little Volkswagen? Geees! What a waste of money

And congrats Peerless--sender2 thinks you are Mr Customer Service. I guess your volunteer help is good enough to be called professional!

sender2--you owe peerless an apology: he is a fellow user helping out his peers like the rest of us. LimeWire Pro support is available here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/proform.shtml

Downloading from 45 sources and it still creeps along at 1kb is out of the ordinary. It shouldn't do it. There must be a reason...

There indeed must be a reason, and it looks like a firewall. However, if you're the yblt that's been having troubles for quite a while (register dammit if you really want help: do you really expect others to take the time to look up your specs?), I'd suggest you call your ISP and confirm that they do indeed allow filesharing, especially to the gnutella network over port 6346.

Hey, I appreciate the help. Not really into registering and I understand if your'e not into helping me because of it. Firewall is NOT an issue and my ISP used to be just fine and they haven't changed anything. I have XP Pro and a cable modem. Nothing has change on my enduntil 2 weeks ago I wasn't able to connect at all and now I can connect which is cool, but it is extremely slow. Where I was downloading at 35-60 KB, it is now 1-4 KB.

Fair enough--you can always dump the stats other posters need into a sig or something.

I don't know anything about XP (OSX here), but when someone else noted a change, I couldn't confirm the problem http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...7785#post87785 Maybe if you try the same test that will give you more info to work with.

Can you rule out that it's not just the hosts serving up the file? That's the usual reason speeds are inconsistent--the only way to get around this is to find lots of sources.

An other setting that might limit the sources you can find is if "Allow Partial Sharing" is turned off in the uploads options.

That's all I can think of for now--hope you can get better speeds.

Cheers

Hey, thx again. I ruled out the host as I downloaded from 43 sources of T3 or higher and it went to 3kb. I have either excellent or turbo charged connection by the way. I made sure "Allows Partial Sharing" is turned off as well. I even tried yoyr amusing test to no avail. Maybe one day it will just be faster just like one day I wasn't able to connect and then all of a sudden I was. Alas...
