We need a little more information. Where from and when are you trying to delete a file?

If you have a slow download going and decide to delete it while it is in progress you will get a file in use by another application error. You will need to disconnect Limewire or kill the download to delete the file.

Are you using Windows & what version? You may need to be signed on with administrative privleges to delete a file.

It is possible the file is "read only". You may need to change the attributes.

And, to add to the fun...

The file could also be in the process of being 'hashed'

and/or

Scanned for viruses !

If it's an audio/video file, check that it is not being used by your player (even if it is not being played).
